1 Samuel 12:19-21

¹⁹ All of the people said to Samuel, “Pray to the Lord, your God, for your servants that we might not die, for we have added this to our other evil deeds, that we asked for a king.”

²⁰ But Samuel said to the people, “Do not be afraid. You have done all of this wickedness, but you have not turned away from following the Lord. Serve the Lord with your whole heart. ²¹ Do not turn aside after useless things that cannot be to your profit, nor can they deliver you, for they are useless.
